The Innovative Archaeopteryx

The archaeopteryxs is a genus of bird-like dinosaurs, considered to be the first animal to develop the feather for flight. As an innovator, the archaeopteryx is a fitting symbol for the Arc'teryx Company.

• Archaeopteryx lived in the Late Jurassic around 150 million years ago, in what is now southern Germany.
• Archaeopteryx was generally accepted by palaeontologists as the oldest known bird.
• The largest species of Archaeopteryx could grow to about 0.5 m (1 ft 8 in) in length.

The Berlin Specimen is the most complete skeletal specimen, the first with a complete head. It is on display at Berlin's Natural History Museum. The logo for the Arc'teryx Company is based on this specimen.
